Verse
She's my lady and I've got to be with her And I love her more that anybody could And as I wake in morning light I see her smile shining bright Won't open up my eyes until I'm sure I really should
Verse
Although I see my lady every day and in my dreams It's not enough to carry me along I've got to have my lady's love for she was sent from up above With her at my side I'd know that there'd be nothing wrong
Bridge
But when I want to make her mine I stumble for words to find So I'll have to sing her song With her at my side I'd know that there'd be nothing wrong
Verse
If my lady gave me all that she could give I would give her more than seven times as much The love within my heart is for my lady standing at the door I live day to day hoping to feel her gentle love

Commentary
Written January 11, 1974. Another song about another fellow student that I was attracted to. Never even knew her last name. And once again, after the semester ended, never saw her again. Fortunately, around the time I wrote this song, I asked out another girl for a date. We dated for a couple of years, and then got married. Still married to her.
