Run, run
Run, run
To the mountains
To the sea
And if someone is after you
Run with me

I'll hop in my car
Hightail it to Mexico
Or shoot for the stars
There's no limit to where I'll go
But if they catch me, that's the end
So I must run

Run, run
Run, run
To the mountains
To the sea
And if someone is after you
Run with me

There's a light in darkness
I'll keep it well in sight
Freedom around the corner
Hope I make it through the night
And the road to safety lies only in your arms
But I'm lost in the world of which I am a part
And the sooner I get there, the happier I'll be
And I want you
To run with me

The end may be near
Unless I reach where I want to be
I know I can't stay here
A new horizon will be good to see
But if they catch me, that's the end
So I must run

Run, run
Run, run
To the mountains
To the sea
And if someone is after you
Run with me

There's a light in darkness
I'll keep it well in sight
Freedom around the corner
Hope I make it through the night
And the road to safety lies only in your arms
But I'm lost in the world of which I am a part
And the sooner I get there, the happier I'll be
And I want you
To run with me

Run, run
Run, run
To the mountains
To the sea
And if someone is after you
Run with me

Commentary
Written February 7, 1974.

In 1971, Ambush, the band I was in as a bass player, wrote a song called "Run". We performed it at some of our gigs (there were only three in all.) I have no recollection of how it went, but I think it was basically a jam. Jo Jo Gunne had a song called Run, Run, Run, so to avoid confusion between these two songs, I wrote, "Run, Run"
