This One's For You

You say I've never written you a song
Well, this one is for you
And for a love that can never go wrong
Each word I say is true

We will capture the days spent together
Pull out the Polaroids and read old love letters
Remember that this one's for you,
This one's for you

I remember as if it was this morning
The very day we met
In my heart was a warming
Which I'll never forget

We will capture the days spent together
Pull out the Polaroids and read old love letters
Remember that this one's for you,
This one's for you

While our days grow short and hair grows gray
I find I love you more every day
If I could have another song to sing
I wouldn't change a thing

I wouldn't change a thing
I wouldn't change a thing
I wouldn't change a thing

Commentary
Written March 13 & 14, 1974. Another one for the wife-to-be, imagining our future years. I was twenty at the time, she was 17. And me thinking about gray hair. It arrived many years later.
