I am picking up the litter someone left here by the creek I am feeling very bitter that that someone was so weak That they couldn't carry paper to a trash receptacle They considered it a caper, and for that I'm skeptical The lowest of the low Think it's the status quo The thing that they don't know How much it causes woe I think this single piece of trash, could just have been recycled It makes me want my teeth to gnash, they must feel so entitled The danger that it puts us in, is always understated If only dropped into the bin, or otherwise donated As we look on from high It causes a black eye On everything we spy We need to say good bye A bottle is a nickel spent, five pennies on redeeming But added up a fortune sent, to waters now are screaming The added cost of picking up, the cost is so tremendous A single bottle, seven-up, it's fate is now horrendous So heed us as we cry It's not enough to sigh I keep on asking why? Why can't they just comply?
