- [2005/08/23 12:54:36] I went out for a long walk at lunchtime today to see if I would encounter anything interesting. I walked to down 9th street to K, up the mall to 13th, down 13th to F, F to 8th, 8th to N and back to work. Practically nothing of major noteworthiness occurred, try as I might to observe.
I noted that "The Aristocrats" will be opening at the Crest on Friday. I'm going to try to see that one. Also noted that Marilyn's, a bar formerly on the corner of 12th and K will be building at 10th and K. They have a web site at http://www.marilynsonk.com/
Also noted that Farley's, a sandwich and soup place that I occasionally frequented is still not open, so I guess it must be for good.
An interesting thing that I discovered was a Russian Orthodox church at 13th and G. I was previously unaware of such a structure.
When I retured after about 45 minutes, I was pretty sweaty, at least after I got back inside the building.
So much for "interesting" and/or "humourous." Maybe something will come up later.

Cece had been out for the evening and had just arrived home when the phone rang. It was a call from her niece's husband in Washington state, returning a message. However, Cece hadn't called. So far, odd, but not very interesting.
What was interesting is that Cece hadn't seen her niece (her brother's daughter) in nearly 40 years. It turns out she was in town visiting her father, less than a mile away. A few minutes after the husband called, the niece called and we were able to go and have a late visit for a couple of hours, returning home about 11:30 PM.
