Andrew Dado's descendants. As of now, I can only assume that this Andrew Dado was related to my grandfather, Joseph H. Dado. There is no evidence to indicate that, yet, but Andrew was from the city of Whiting, Indiana, as were other members of the Dado family whose relationship to my grandfather is documented.

Passed away peacefully on June 28. Born February 17, 1915. Beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother of four children, seven grandchildren and one great granddaughter. She will always live in our hearts.

Andrew D. Dado, 80, of Whiting passed away Wednesday, September 24, 1997 at Regency Place Healthcare Center, Dyer. He was the beloved husband of the late Mary Dado who passed away March 23, 1984. He is survived by his daughter, Sandra (Don) Vandermolen of Hammond; four grandchildren, Molly (Tom) Farrell-Corey, Mary (Elden) Cain and Casey (Melissa) Farrell, all of Hammond, Gay (Rick) Plants of Crown Point; six great-grandchildren, Katie, Nicholas and Michael Farrell; Meagan, Noah and Timothy Plants; sister, Justine Hubbard of Woodland Hills, California; two brother, Mike Dado of Chino Hills, California and John Dado of Whiting; numerous nieces and nephews; dear friends, Mildred and William Umlauf of Whiting.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 27, 1997 at 9:30 a.m. at the Baran Funeral Home, 1235-119th Street, Whiting. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Whiting with the Rev. Edward C. Homco, C. PP. S. officiating. Entombment, St. John Cemetery, Hammond. Visitation at the funeral home Friday 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Members of the parish will offer prayers at the funeral home Friday at 4 p.m.

Mr. Dado was a lifelong resident of Whiting; a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Whiting; a World War II Army Veteran where he served in Normandy, the Rhineland and Central Europe and was a recipient of the Purple Heart; a retiree of the Amoco Oil Whiting Refinery. SANDRA VANDERMOLEN HAMMOND, IN Sandra Vandermolen, age 77, of Hammond, passed away on February 1, 2014. She is survived by her husband, Don; son, Casey (Melissa) Farrell of Hammond; three daughters: Gay (Rick) Plants of Crown Point, Mary (Elden) Cain of Dyer, and Dr. Molly Farrell-Corey (Thomas Corey) of Crown Point; 11 grandchildren; and six great grandchildren. Preceded in death by first husband, James Farrell. Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 6, 2014 at 10:00 AM at Kuiper Funeral Home, 9039 Kleinman Rd. (two blocks south of Ridge Rd.), Highland, IN with Rev. Stephen Kosinski officiating. Cremation to follow. Friends are welcome to visit with the family on Wednesday, February 5, 2014 from 2:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Sandra was a retired bookkeeper, a volunteer at Edison School, Hammond, and Jane Ball School, Cedar Lake.
