HOW LONG IS LOVE

I live on this island,
I sit on dee beach, read books, and burst into song.
I work the gallery,
Life was peaceful for me 'till she came running along.

She likes to play these games that I always lose.
When the ground's too hot to walk, she hides my shoes,
And then she gives me clues, but hey -
Something 'bout the girl adds colour to my world.
But I've felt this before, so I look to dee sky
And I ask dee angels ...

"How long is love? How long is love this time?
How long is love? Please let this love be mine!"

She makes up a joke
And laughs when I can't understand it.
Yesterday at lunch
She actually put sand in my sandwich. Yeah.

She makes pretty little trinkets from shells and beads,
Goes shopping in the grove - brings me things I don't need,
And then judo-chops my knee, playfully.
Something 'bout the girl adds colour to my world.
But I've felt this before, so I look to dee sky
And I ask dee angels ...

"How long is love? How long is love this time?
How long is love? Please let this love be mine!"

"How long is love? 'Cause I think I'm sinking deeper.
How long is love this time?
How long is love? 'Cause I think I wanna keep her, yeah.
Please let this love be mine!"

I hold out my arms.

She sneaks up behind me and grabs my hair,
Whispers something crazy - we melt right there.
Yeah, she's got a way with me.
Something 'bout the girl adds colour to my world.
But I've felt this before, so I look to dee sky
And I ask dee angels ...

"How long is love?
How long is love this time?
How long is love? 'Cause I think I wanna keep her, yeah.
Please let this love be mine!
 She's OK for me."
