The Thistle Dew Dessert Theatre is comfortably located in the lower level of an 1894 Victorian house. It is
the center for original theatre in Sacramento and the home of the Thistle Dew Playwright's Workshop.
Thistle Dew is Sacramento's unique intimate theatre experience. The 39-seat theatre presents original dramas,
comedies and musicals. It is the only theatre in Sacramento (perhaps the world) where dessert is included in the ticket price.
It is the only theatre in Sacramento where, when you attend a play, you are sure to meet the playwright
and some of the playwrights and members of the Thistle Dew Playwright's Workshop.
We send an email newsletter each month announcing our upcoming shows and events. If you would like to be included,

"The Divine Court Martial of Field Marshal Keitel"
A staged reading of an original play
by Charles McIntosh
Field-Marshal Wilhelm Keitel was the senior officer in the Nazi armed forces from 1937 to 1945, and was hanged in 1946 on sentence from the Nuremberg Tribunal. Orders signed by him or issued at his direction were the authority for many of the most heinous acts of both the army and the dread SS under Himmler.
Keitel considered himself merely a soldier, obligated by oath and training to carry out the orders of his military commander, Adolf Hitler, regardless of his own opinions about their nature, subject matter, or consequences. Officers who knew him well considered him more or less as a high-ranking clerk, exercising (by his own choice) little personal discretion. In fact, their nickname for him was "Lakeitel", or lackey.
Friday, September 12 (7pm), Saturday, 13 (7pm), Sunday, 14 (2pm), Friday, 19 (7pm), Saturday, 20 (7pm) and close Sunday, 21 (2pm perf.).
