Turn on the news. Precipitation?
Weather person says no chance
I hang my head in consternation
Time to do my own rain dance
Turn on the tap and there’s no action
Not a drop for me to drink
Awaiting liquid benefaction
Need to fill my kitchen sink
Tried to turn to simple dowsing
Couldn’t even make that work
No time now for more carousing
Body then began to jerk
Years of drought, I’m in a panic
Time to take some action now
Dance around with movements manic
Got to make it rain somehow
Can you feel it, something's happening?
Scent of moisture in the air
Can I feel a little dampening?
Clouds are gathering way up there
Drops are starting, rain is falling
Finally we are getting drenched
Finally someone heard me calling
Thirst is finally getting quenched

The panic builds, the relief comes -- it's quite a journey. Well-constructed!

These lyrics, bring me back to earlier in the summer here in Wisconsin, where I live, where it didn’t rain for almost an entire month. The ground was cracking! It was such relief when that thirst of the ground and of the plants was finally quenched! Really nice word arcs here

Yes to the arc of dryness, frustration, flailing and then the relief of the first hints of relief and then the deluge. The rhymes and rhythms of the lines seem to bring it on.
