Martin Dado, 61, of 2010 Clark St., Whiting, father of Andrew Dado, Whiting city fireman, died Sunday [8 December 1952] afternoon at St. Catherine Hospital, East Chicago, after suffering a heart attack.

Dado's son administered resuscitator aid to his father after the attack.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 8:30 a.m. in the Kosior Chapel, 2031 Indianapolis Blvd., and at 9 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Church with the Rev. John Lach officiating. Burial will be in St. John Cemetery, Hammond.

Survivors are the widow, Mary; another son, Joseph; four daughters, Mrs. John Kontol, Mrs. Joseph Hritz, Mrs. Harry Baranowski and Mary Dado; four grandchildren; a brother, Frank, all of Whiting.

Dado was employed at Whiting refinery, Standard Oil Company and was a member of the American Slovak Club of Whiting.

Mary G. Steinhilber, 77 of Valparaiso, passed away on Thursday, January 27, 2000 at Life Care Center, Valparaiso. Born in Whiting, IN, August 13, 1922, daughter of the late Martin and Mary (Sagen) Dado. Married Karl Steinhilber on February 27, 1960 at Immaculate Conception Church in Whiting, IN, he survives in Valparaiso. Also survived by two children; Rosemary Alwine of Bloomington, IN and Caroline Steinhilber of Valparaiso, IN; two grandchildren, Steven and Alexa Alwine; sister, Frances Hritz and brother, Joe (Betty) Dado, both of Whiting; sister-in-law, Marie Dado of Whiting; brother-in-law, Harry Baranowski of Hammond; and numerous nieces and nephews. Also preceded in death two sisters, Emily Kontel and Anne Baranowski, and two brothrs, Martin and Andrew Dado.

Mary was a former employee of Standard Oil and the First Bank of Whiting; member of St. Paul Catholic Church; 1940 graduate of Whiting High School.

Funeral services Tuesday, February 1, 2000 from Dykes Funeral Home at 10:30 a.m. to St. Paul Catholic Church for 11 a.m. Mass, Msgr. F. J. Melevage officiating.

Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Valparaiso. Visitation Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. with a wake service at 4 p.m. at Dykes Funeral Home, 2305 North Campbell St., Valparaiso. Family wishes memorials to St. Paul Catholic Church.

Anne P. Baranowski (nee Dado), 70, of Hammond, IN. passed away at her residence on Saturday, May 23, 1998. Survived by her husband of 50 years (June 5th), Harry J., Sr.; son, Harry J. Baranowski, Jr. of Hammond; two daughters, Mary Therese (Stanley) Kucia Jr. of Chicago and Jane Ann Baranowski (fiance, Greg Morgan) of Indianapolis, IN., granddaughters, Heather and Lauren Baranowski; daughter-in-law, Collette Baranowski of Warrenville, IL; two sisters, Mary (Karl) Steinhilber of Valparaiso and Frances (late Joseph) Hritz of Whiting; brother, Joseph (Betty) Dado of Whiting; sister-in-law, Marie (late Andrew) Dado of Whiting; numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews. Preceded in death by her parents, Martin and Mary Dado, three brothers Andrew, Martin and Peter Dado, sister, Emelie (late John) Kontol and one daughter, Susan Marie Baranowski.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 27, 1998 at 11:15 a.m. at the Baran Funeral Home, 1235-119th St., Whiting, 12 Noon Mass at St. Casimir Church, Hammond, IN., with Rev. Vladimir Janeczek officiating. Burial at St. John Cemetery, Hammond, IN. Visitation at the funeral home on Tuesday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Mrs. Baranowski was previously employed at the Calumet Blueprint Company, Hammond. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of the Calumet Area, in her name. 219-659-4400.

JOSEPH A. DADO WHITING, IN Joseph A. Dado, 81 of Whiting, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 21, 2012 at his residence surrounded by his family. He is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Betty (nee Harp); loving father of Marty (Paula) of Whiting, Joseph (Patrice) of South Bend, Sue (Gary) Lalin of Las Vegas, NV, Rosie (Bruce) Topping of Plymouth, IN, Paula Franiak of Woodland Hills, CA and Beth (Jim) Kasper of Crown Point; cherished grandfather of Neil, Samuel, Nicholas, Martin, Matthew, Joshua Dado, Gina (Mat) Hytinen, Jennifer Dado, Kristina (fiancée Benedict Swager) Dado, Sean Lalin, Ashley, Joseph and Bradley Franiak, Daniel and Ryan Kasper and the late Gregory Novak; adoring great grandpa of Jeremy and Brianna Novak, Emma Dado, Daphne and Reid Hytinen; dearest brother of Frances (late Joseph) Hritz and the late Andrew Dado, Martin Dado, Anne Baranowski, Emily Kontol, and Mary Steinhilber; dear brother-in-law of Marie Dado; proud uncle of many nieces and nephews. Visitation at the funeral home on Tuesday from 2:00 p.m. to time of services. Joe Dado was born on February 2, 1931 in Whiting, Indiana to Martin and Mary (Segan) Dado and was a lifelong resident. He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church, Whiting and a graduate of Whiting High School, Class of 1949. He was a life member of the American Slovak Club and was a retiree of Meade Electric with over 20 years of service. Joe was a loyal Chicago Cubs fan and an avid bowler. In his youth, he was a "pin setter" at the Whiting Community Center. Devoted to his family, Joe will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
