To look at you I would not think that I would fall in love with you
But something you've got is what brings you into my heart
You're not the best I've ever see but for some reason I still love you
In fact, I would give my life if we ever had to part

You may not be beautiful on the outside, but on the inside, you're a beauty queen
That you can't dispute and that makes you the most beautiful girl that I've ever seen.

When I look into your eyes I see right through your disguise
Waiting for me each day is your tender love in your own way

You may not be beautiful on the outside, but on the inside, you're a beauty queen
That you can't dispute and that makes you the most beautiful girl that I've ever seen.

You're the only one who knows me and I can't leave you 'cause I can talk to you
And maybe someday I will have something to say
We both need each other and without you I know that I couldn't live
In fact, it would save my life if I could make you stay

Because I never say it doesn't mean that I don't mean it
But I love you just the same, it's no longer a game

You may not be beautiful on the outside, but on the inside, you're a beauty queen
That you can't dispute and that makes you the most beautiful girl that I've ever seen.

Commentary
Written July 1973. Something about falling in love with a girl that's not conventionally attractive. I'm sure any girl/woman who thinks this is about her just loves it (heh, heh.)
