JOHN W. VARHOL John W. Varhol, Entered into the presents of the Lord, on Monday November 14, 2011 at his home in Bayonne. John was a lifelong Bayonne resident. He was an Engineer with Lucent Technologies for 40 years retiring in 1996. He was an Army veteran. A member of the Grace Bible Fellowship Church, where he served as Treasurer. Surviving are His wife of 51 years Mary Anne (Aida) Varhol, his daughter Judy Graf and her husband Gerard. His granddaughter Sarah Graf. His nephews, Rev. Jack White and his wife Eileen, Jim White and his wife Marissa. His sister-in-law Patricia Basile and her husband Pastor Joseph Basile. Also grandnieces and nephews. Family will receive Guests on Thursday November 17, 2011 beginning at 7:00 p.m. at the Grace Bible Fellowship Church 15 West 21 Street, Bayonne. A Memorial service will begin at 8:00 p.m. Pastor Joseph Basile officiating. Everyone will meet on Friday, November 18, 2011 at The Brigadier General William C. Donna Holthe

WASHINGTON - Donna M. Holthe, 81, of Washington, Ill., died at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, July 7, 2011, at Washington Christian Village in Washington.

Born Aug. 12, 1929, in Ransom, Ill., to John and Sue Motegski Wargo, she married Raymond E. Holthe on Nov. 25, 1954, in Streator, Ill. He survives.

Also surviving are two daughters, Mary Eakman of Indianapolis, Ind., and Karen (Ricky) Tessman of Waukesha, Wis.; five sons, Tom (Elaine) of Katy, Texas, Steve (Jean) of Arnold, Mo., Jim of Washington, Ill., Paul (Michelle) of Eureka, Ill., and Matt (Janet) of Bloomington, Ill.; her sister, Lorraine Olivero of Peru, Ill.; 10 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; six nieces; and seven nephews.

She was preceded in chapter eternal by her parents; her brother, John; her grandson, Grant; and two nephews.

Donna worked as a medical technician in Chicago until her marriage, after which she was a stay-at-home mother to her seven wonderful children.

She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Washington for 54 years, where a funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday, July 11, 2011. Monsignor John Prendergast will officiate. Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, July 10, 2011, at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington, with a recitation of the rosary at 4:45 p.m. Additional visitation will be one-half hour prior to the Mass on Monday at the church. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memory Gardens in rural Morton.

Requests for memorial Masses may be made at the funeral home or at her church. Also, donations to the Father Schubert Memorial Fund or the Sister Mary Ann Schmitz Scholarship Fund in her name may be made.

Lorraine S. (Wargo) Olivero, of Peru, a beloved mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 9, 2014, surrounded by her family.Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 15, 2014 at St. Joseph?s Church, Peru, with the Rev. Harold Datzman, O.S.B., officiating. Burial will follow in Ladd Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-7:00 p.m. Friday at the Mueller Funeral Home in Peru with a liturgical prayer service at 3:45 p.m. Additional visitation will be 10:00 a.m. until the time of services Saturday in the church. Lorraine was born in Ransom to Michael John and Susan (Chayko) Wargo. She grew up in Streator, Illinois, graduating from Streator High School and then from Century College in Chicago as a Medical Technologist. She married John Olivero on October 9, 1954, and they had nine beautiful children.Lorraine worked as a Medical Technologist in several hospitals, including Saint Elizabeth Hospital in Chicago and Saint Mary's Hospital in Streator. She was in charge of the lab at Ottawa General Hospital from 1953 to 1955, and then worked at People's Hospital in Peru until her second child was born. Always a devoted mother, she then focused her attention on raising her nine children. In 1978, she went back to work part-time at the Community Hospital of Ottawa and continued to work there until 1990. Lorraine was a member of St. Joseph?s Catholic Church in Peru, and was involved in several organizations including the Illinois Valley Women's Club where she founded and was President of the Potpourri Department. She was also an active member of the Illinois Valley Zonta Club, the Illinois Valley Business and Professional Women's Club, the Illinois Valley Medical Professional?s Club, and the Saint Joseph's Altar and Rosary Society. She loved serving in these groups and especially enjoyed spending time with the many friends she met there.Family was the foundation of Lorraine's life, and her proudest achievement was raising her nine wonderful children. Her unconditional love for her children and her dedication to her family were clearly seen in everything she did. She always placed the needs of her children above her own. She was genuinely warm and compassionate, and her radiant smile was a joy to see. Her intelligence and remarkable memory were admired by those closest to her, and she always gave the best advice to everyone when they needed it. Lorraine cherished family vacations throughout the United States and Europe. She loved to follow current events and was an avid sports fan. Lorraine always kept her sense of humor and love of life which endeared her to everyone who knew her. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed. She will always be remembered by the many family members and friends whose lives she touched. Lorraine is survived by eight of her children, John Paul Olivero of Peru, Lisa Olivero of Ladd, Laurie (Steve) Landsman of Willowbrook, Mark (Laura) Olivero of Fort Wayne, IN, Linda Olivero of Springfield, Tom (Wendy) Olivero of Utica, Lucia Olivero of Chicago and Luke (Jeanna) Olivero of La Salle; her son-in law, Eric Elder of Chenoa; fifteen adored grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.Lorraine was preceded in death by her loving husband, John; her beautiful daughter, Lana Elder; her parents; her brother, John Wargo and her sister, Donna Holthe.Pallbearers will be John Paul Olivero, Mark Olivero, Tom Olivero, Luke Olivero, Lucas Elder, Steve Landsman, Jared Landsman and Michael Wargo.In lieu of flowers, donations in Lorraine?s memory may be made to St. Joseph's Church, 829 Schuyler Street, Peru, Illinois.

Dr. Michael Christopher Varhol

Oradell - Dr. Michael Christopher Varhol, age 47, of Columbia MD, formerly of Oradell, NJ, passed away in his home on September 25, 2020. Michael was born on December 22, 1972 in Teaneck, NJ. Beloved son of Carmela (nee Tripodi) Varhol and S. Gregory Varhol, MD of Oradell. Dear brother of Suzanne Varhol Cook, Jennifer Salvo, Andrew Varhol, and Kristen Edwards. Cherished uncle of Joseph, Robert and Thomas Cook; Andrew, Alexander and Tyler Salvo; Molly and Dakota Edwards; and Theodore Varhol. Michael is also survived by his loving aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, and his precious dog, Jack Bauer.

After graduating from River Dell Regional High School in 1991, Michael attended Georgetown University. In 1995, he obtained a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature and Economics with a minor in Psychology. With infinite possibilities in front of him, Michael chose to pursue a career as a Clinical Psychologist. He received his doctoral degree from the George Washington University Psy.D. Program in 2004. Committed to helping children, adolescents and adults with depression, anxiety and behavioral problems, Michael was a skilled clinician with an open heart and a compassionate soul. His professional career included counseling students on the campuses of University of Maryland Baltimore County and Johns Hopkins University. After these experiences, Michael found his calling in private practice at The Family Center in Ellicott City, Maryland, where he helped countless young people with struggles of self-confidence, finding direction and managing difficult feelings. Michael was joined by his co-therapist, rescue dog, Jack Bauer, a Labrador-Border Collie mix.

Funeral services will be private due to Covid restrictions. PASHNICK, SUZANNE, 94, of Bayonne, died March 9, 2005. Before retiring on 1975, she was an Executive Secretary for a New York Securities firm and an active member of The National Secretaries Association. Suzanne was a parishioner of St. John's Greek Catholic Church. She was pre-deceased by sisters, Catherine Varhol and Marie Zabarouskas, brother Peter Skinner and nephew Mark Zabarouskas. She is survived by nephews S. Gregory Varhol, Robert Skinner and Michael Zabarouskas and nieces, M. Suzanne Stadelmann (nee Varhol) and Patricia Bass (nee Zabarouskas), thirteen grand-nephews and nieces and five greatgrand nephews and nieces. A Memorial Service will be held at St. John's Rectory Chapel on April 11, 2005 at 9:00 am. Funeral services were private. Published by The Jersey Journal on Mar. 22, 2005.
