Are you, by any chance, the duaghter of Mildred Payton? If so, then you and my wife are related. Mildred was my wife's (Cecelia Bennett Linder) 1st cousin on her father's side. Mildred's mother, Rowena, and Cece's father, Damon, were brother and sister.
Cece and Mildred never met, and in fact, may not even have known that the other existed.
If I am correct, I'd like to open up a line of communication to find more about Cece's father's family.
If not, a simple "no" will suffice.
Hope it's "yes"...

Based on the weakest evidence possible, a name and a state, I happened upon your collection of Jeffersonville High School yearbooks. In the 1939, 1941 and 1942 editions, the name "Evelyn Fields" is listed. My wife's (Cecelia Bennett Linder) father, Damon Bennett from Paoli, IN, was married to an Evelyn Fields in the early 1940s, and had two daughters, Alice and Phyllis. They subsequently divorced, and he married my wife's mother, Gloria Wert, around 1946.
Per your invitation "If you would like more information such as the activities of these students, I can look that up for you", I'm taking you up on that offer. Any further information that can be gleaned from these yearbooks, and possibly subsequent yearbooks for 1943 and 1944, may prove beneficial in my search. I have no idea if this is the same Evelyn Fields, but that's what I'm trying to discern.
Cece's parents divorced in 1958, when she was two years old, and her father died in 1965, so she has no knowledge of her father's family. I'm trying to piece together what information I can find to help her locate any living relatives and fill in the missing parts of her family's heritage.
